The recently modernised Philips Stadion is an atmospheric arena much alike many in England, its stands tight to the pitch. Before renovation the stadium consisted of four individual stands, but to meet the minimum UEFA capacity requirements for the tournament the corners were filled in, two of just one tier, two all the way to the top creating a twin tiered sweep.

A capacity crowd this night generated an electric atmosphere worthy of the venue.
