Bradford City v
Arsenal

The Sunwin Stand (left) was built to replace the Main Stand following the tragic fire in 1985 which resulted in 56 deaths. This was the first of three tragedies in the 1980's which would lead to the revolution in football stadia.

The three home supporter stands all offer post-free sightlines, but the away fans end (from where this composition was shot) is old and outdated, retaining posts and hindering viewing.

Valley Parade is an intimate little ground built on the side of a hill with limited redevelopment potential. Having said this, the club has plans to rebuild the Sunwin Stand into two tiered grandstand which will link with the grounds current most modern construction, the Carlsburg Stand, via a curved corner block.

One abiding memory of my visit to Bradford is the wondeful smell of curry wafting across the ground from a nearby home. Fantastic!
