One of the marvels of world football stadia! The Nou Camp is a towering colossus in every sense. Europe's highest (all seater) capacity of 98,000 (previously 110,000 mixed) is unrivaled. It has seen better days - the climate means it is continually covered in dust and grime - and can appear a little tatty. This though takes nothing away from its magnificence, and even the arrival of recent SuperStadia throughout Europe hasn't diminished its status as one of the most desirable stadia to play or spectate in, anywhere. "I'll be re-shooting this in the autumn during the 1999 UEFA Champions League...", I said earlier in the development of this website. Little did I appreciate just how different a shot I would take! Compare the 'side-on' shot' of previously with the almost 'ariel' shot here. The impression is staggeringly different, even though the former puts across the scale and grandure of the Nou Camp in its own right. The view from the fifth tier is suprisingly good, though don't expect to clearly see faces. |
