Old meets new at the North-East corner of highbury. Arsenal's famous Art Deco East Stand is the inspiration for the recently created North Bank Stand. Heralded when first opened, it is easy to forget what a superb stand it is, both outside and in, when compared to todays bowl 'identy-kit' constructions. It seems that most top flight clubs go for this option, but as the lack of sunlight at Old Trafford has shown, this can lead to problems.

With Arsenal seemingly doomed to leaving Highbury in search of a new 60,000+ capacity stadium, perhaps their tradition of excellence and innovation is due a return, in the form of a stadium consisting of four individual stands, rather than todays trendy bowl...
